I have considered the notion that the old makes way for the new, but sometimes it’s the new that errs. From what point do we think of something as being too old to be relevant? Is it actual years attached to it? Could it be the ratio between prominence and obscurity? Like wise is a new beginning mean that we forget where we came from or what was in the past, to avoid the cliché of being like Buddy Holly who now is remembered more for his style than his work.
I think the important thing is to make sure that somewhere, you leave a mark, a testament if you will that someone can look at the standing stones and say. “So this is where that happened”
